The next morning, after those delicious dreams about Coconuts, Pizza and Rose water, Betty’s cousin Eva was walking down the stairs like Ema in Gerhard Richter’s famous photography painting from 1966, looking for something to get dressed. So, we were almost ready to drive to Big Sur, having lunch with friends in the Bakery.  The simple food there is amazing and when you are leaving buy a copy of “The Big Sur Bakery Cookbook”. The book is a yearlong glimpse into what it’s really like to live in Big Sur, introducing the people and places that make the restaurant’s renowned food possible, including a organic row cropper, a sandal maker and porch farmers.
